Seven to eight years ago, Prithivi Narayan Pandey envisioned creating something unique in the bustling streets of Thamel. Inspired by his wife, Pratima Rana, he set out to build a space that celebrated Nepali culture and heritage. His dream was to craft a mall that not only offered modern, five-star amenities but also showcased the rich architecture and traditions of Nepal. Named in honor of his mother, Chhaya Devi, Chhaya Centre is a tribute to both family and the timeless beauty of Nepali heritage.

The Evolution
Prithvi Narayan Pandey envisioned Chhaya Centre as a premium five-star facility, meticulously designed to blend modern luxury with Nepali culture. The ground floor was intended for high-end branded items, while the first floor was dedicated to jewelry and cosmetics. The second floor would highlight Nepal's craftsmanship, featuring handmade goods and locally produced items. The fourth floor was set to become a vibrant food court. However, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted these plans, causing many businesses to vacate and creating a gap between the original concept and the current reality.
A Unique Approach to Mall Management
Chhaya Centre operates differently from traditional malls. Unlike other shopping centers where the management may own or lease out spaces, Chhaya Centre operates on a freehold system. Individual shops within the center are owned by separate individuals, not by Chhaya Centre itself. The mall retains ownership of public spaces and generates revenue through advertising on various hoardings within the complex. The primary operational and management costs are covered through these advertising revenues and the management of public areas.
Prime Business Opportunities
Chhaya
Centre boasts 217 units, with most currently occupied and a few still
available. If you're seeking an ideal location for your business, Chhaya Centre
offers excellent opportunities. Its prime position in Thamel and its blend of
modern luxury with Nepali charm make it a standout choice for establishing a
successful venture. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this vibrant commercial
hub.
