In a tragic incident on September 22, 2024, a passenger named Sher Bahadur Bohora, aged 50 and a resident of Godawari Municipality-2, collapsed while obtaining a boarding pass at Dhangadhi Airport. Despite being rushed to Maya Metro Hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Preliminary reports suggest the cause was a heart attack, though an autopsy at Seti Provincial Hospital was conducted for confirmation.
Operational Challenges and Maintenance
Dhangadhi Airport has faced operational challenges, including temporary closures for maintenance and upgrades. In 2019, the airport remained closed for an additional week beyond the planned maintenance period to complete runway upgrades, causing disruptions to flight schedules.
