Established in October 2019, Munney Salon is a growing brand in Nepal's beauty industry. Fueled by passion and hard work, it has expanded from a small salon in Butwal into a luxury destination with plans for further growth.


The journey of Munney Salon began in a modest 300-square-foot space with just three chairs. Despite the limited setup, the salon quickly gained a reputation for high-quality services and client satisfaction. As the work of talented stylists was showcased on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, the salon’s reach grew rapidly, attracting clients from all over Nepal.

Within a year, Munney Salon’s popularity surged, and the increasing customer flow prompted a major expansion. The founder relocated the salon to a larger 1500-square-foot space, designed with a luxury setup to provide clients with not just beauty services, but also a premium experience. 

Strategic Expansion and Market Research

One of the keys to Munney Salon's success has been the founder’s keen understanding of the market. Extensive research into client preferences helped the salon offer the right mix of services, which contributed to its continued growth. By identifying trends and tailoring services accordingly, Munney Salon carved out a unique position in the competitive beauty industry.

The founder’s vision to build a brand extended beyond Butwal. In a bid to create a chain of high-quality salons, Munney Salon expanded to Kathmandu, opening a branch in Durbarmarg. The luxury setup mirrored the Butwal location, and the Kathmandu salon soon became a hub for beauty enthusiasts.

"We are packed every single day," the founder proudly states, highlighting the overwhelming success in the capital. With Jhamsikhel next on the list, the salon is on track to become a major player in Nepal’s salon industry.

A Shift from Science to Beauty

What makes Munney Salon’s story even more remarkable is the founder’s background. Coming from a +2 science education, the conventional path seemed to be going abroad for further studies, a common trend among students in Nepal. The founder even applied for the USA, but a deep passion for the beauty industry changed everything.

"I ditched the idea of going abroad because I love this field," the founder shares. "I admire how talented hairstylists are celebrated in different countries, and that inspired me to pursue my passion.

Mastering the Craft

Turning passion into expertise, the founder committed to continuous learning. This included attending an international seminar in Dubai, a 15-day chemical training course at a color factory in Chennai, and following top stylists on YouTube to learn cutting-edge techniques. Through hands-on practice, the founder developed unique methods that distinguish Munney Salon from competitors.

This dedication to mastering the craft has been a driving force behind the salon’s success. The founder’s commitment to providing top-tier services keeps Munney Salon at the forefront of the beauty industry in Nepal, ensuring it stays relevant and innovative.
